Roller derby is a fast-paced, full-contact sport played on quad roller skates. Two teams skate around a track while blockers work together to stop the opposing jammer from scoring points.
It’s athletic, strategic, and incredibly fun — whether you’re playing, officiating, volunteering, or cheering from the stands.
Peach State Roller Derby is North Metro Atlanta’s home roller derby league, based in Cobb County.
We are a skater-run organization focused on teamwork, athletic growth, and building a welcoming community through roller derby.
Our league includes skaters, referees, non-skating officials, volunteers, and fans who make every practice and bout possible.
No experience required.
Many of our skaters start completely new to skating or contact sports. Our New Skater Training program teaches:
Basic skating skills
Derby rules and gameplay
Safe contact techniques
Stops, falls, and pack skating
Team strategy

Absolutely.
Our training starts with fundamentals — including learning derby rules in socks before skating — so everyone builds confidence step by step.
You don’t need to be fast, athletic, or experienced to begin.
There are two main roles on the track:
Jammers – score points by passing opponents
Blockers – work together to stop the opposing jammer
Skaters learn and practice multiple roles during training.
Yes — and we need you!
Roller derby depends on volunteers and officials to run games safely and smoothly. You can participate as:
Referee (on skates)
Non-Skating Official (NSO)
Game day volunteer
Event support crew
No skating experience is required for many roles.
Referees skate on the track enforcing rules and calling penalties during gameplay.
Non-Skating Officials manage timing, scoring, penalties, and statistics off-skates. Both roles are essential to every bout.
Peach State Roller Derby hosts live bouts throughout the season at Sparkles of Kennesaw
